MILWAUKEE-EIGHT™ HISTORY
The Milwaukee-Eight™ is a testament to a century of innovation. Since the first years of the past century Harley-Davidson® has pushed the limits of power and performance to deliver the outstanding motors that have shaped the evolution of the motorcycle. The first Harley motor was the F-Head. While primitive, the F-Head spurred the development of the Flathead motor, and later the Knucklehead engine that laid the groundwork for the following decades of air cooled engines. The Panhead engine came next, carrying Harley-Davidson® motorcycles into the sixties, when the Shovelhead rolled onto the road powering the first Electra-Glide® motorcycles. The mid eighties saw the first Evolution engines unveiled, and these motors serve even now in many Harley-Davidson® bikes. 1999 was the last big reveal, when Harley-Davidson® introduced the world to the powerful Twin Cam engines that have served until now. And now it's time for the next big V-Twin from Harley-Davidson®: The Milwaukee-Eight™.
MILWAUKEE-EIGHT™ POWER
The power on tap on Milwaukee-Eight™ equipped bikes is a major shift from the motorcycles that came before. The Milwaukee-Eight™ keeps driving power to the tires right up to the redline, allowing you to ride the way you want. Compared to its Twin Cam predecessors, the Milwaukee-Eight™ offers up 10% more power, to the tune of 111 ft. lbs. of torque. This boost in power comes in part thanks to the Milwaukee-Eight's size: 107 cubic inches. If you're looking to get an even bigger engine with more power, than the 2017 CVO™ touring bikes will scratch your itch. The CVO™ Touring bikes come standard with an upgraded 114 cubic inch MIlwaukee-Eight™. If that's STILL not enough big V-Twin power, then the Screamin' Eagle® Stage III upgrade will be right up your alley, boosting the Milwaukee-Eight™ up to an incredible 117 cubic inches.
MILWAUKEE-EIGHT™ PERFORMANCE
The Milwaukee-Eight™ matches its power with outstanding performance. This engine is sure to satisfy, with awesome heat management, smooth power delivery, and precise, efficient operation. The precision cooling system in the Milwaukee-Eight™ is designed to pull heat directly from the hottest areas of the bike so you experience a cooler ride. The Milwaukee-Eight™'s counterbalancer makes a difference once you open up the throttle on the highway, smoothing out the feeling of your ride, while the rubber mounting of these engines makes your idle more comfortable when you're stopped .Finally, with a pairing of the eight valve design with precise electronic fuel injection Harley-Davidson® has made the Milwaukee-Eight™ more efficient that any of its previous V-Twins, while simultaneously reducing emissions.
