PERFORMANCE AND POWER
At the base of every Harley-Davidson® motorcycle is a commitment to power and performance. The Road King Special takes this commitment to new heights with an all-new engine, redesigned suspension, and improved braking. Harley-Davidso® developed their first V-Twin prototype in 1907, and the lineage has continued till this day with the all-new Milwaukee-Eight engine. With 107 cubic inches of cylinder displacement, the engine has more than twice as much displacement as the first models, and offers about 10% more power and torque than the most recent iterations of the motor.
Designers coupled the Milwaukee-Eight with a 6-Speed Cruise Drive® Transmission for an easy-shifting experience that maintains power at all times. For suspension, Harley-Davidson® implemented Showa® Dual Bending valve technology with big front forks and an adjustable rear emulsion shock. Down on street level, a set of Reflex™ linked Brembo® brakes provides stop-on-a-dime braking.
CUSTOM STYLING
Customization has always been part of the Harley-Davidson® legacy, and the Road King Special has some of the most distinctive styling on the road. The bike comes in four totally original colors, including Vivid Black, Olive Gold, Charcoal Denim, and Hot Rod Red Flake Hard Candy Custom. What's not covered with your unique paint selection is finished in black, giving the bike an aggressive, night-riding look. The turbine wheels are finished in black, which extends up the massive front forks and around the nacelle of the 7 inch Daymaker Projector LED headlight. The saddlebags are sleek and streamlined, featuring a unique one-touch design that's easy to open, even for gloved hands. Up top, tank-mounted gauges feed information about speed and fuel. Unnecessary elements have been trimmed away and what's left looks lean, fast, and mean.
COMFORT FOR THE LONG RIDES
If you love motorcycle touring, you probably know how much more difficult it is when your bike isn't comfortable. The Road King Special brings together a number of comfort features to make even the longest road trips feel like short sprints. The low-profile seat is extremely comfortable despite its slim looks, and the mini-ape hanger handlebars give just the right amount of lift to the riding posture without exhausting your shoulders. Full-length footboards give a stable, pressure point-free base, and the rubber-mounted, counterbalanced engine reduces as much vibration as possible.
