Jump-starting a motorcycle can be a simple process if you have the right tools and follow the correct steps. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to successfully and safely jump-start a motorcycle!

1.

Park the working vehicle next to the motorcycle so that the batteries are close together. Make sure both vehicles are turned off.

2.

Locate the battery on both the motorcycle and the working vehicle. The motorcycle battery is usually located under the seat or near the engine.

3.

Attach one end of the red (positive) jumper cable to the positive terminal on the motorcycle battery. The positive terminal is usually marked with a plus sign.

4.

Attach the other end of the red jumper cable to the positive terminal on the working vehicle's battery.

5.

Attach one end of the black (negative) jumper cable to the negative terminal on the working vehicle's battery.

6.

Attach the other end of the black jumper cable to a metal surface on the motorcycle, away from the battery. This will help prevent sparks near the battery.

7.

Start the working vehicle and let it run for a few minutes to charge the motorcycle battery.

8.

Try starting the motorcycle. If it doesn't start, give it a few more minutes to charge before trying again.

9.

Once the motorcycle starts, remove the jumper cables in the reverse order that you attached them.

10.

Take the motorcycle for a short ride to help recharge the battery.
